The ambient temp was 75 when shooting stills and it was on for 3 to 4 hrs and had it to turn off after 1 min of idle.
I've always had it like that and never a problem. Even before firmware 1.6 never happened to me.

for video i would say about the same but indoors

I downloaded the new firmware to shoot stills and a documentary, and I see the overheating light flashing in both stills and video modes.

The settings on the video mode were in a house (it was a bit warm, but nothing extreme). The camera was recording at 4K FINE, 24 fps.

For photos, I had my camera on a strap the whole time, and the grip felt very warm; I hadn't felt the camera heat up that much.

What is the ambient room temperature?

How long was the camera powered up?
