EOS Rebel T100 Blank screen in live view?

My canon rebel t100 goes dark every time i go into live view, i’ve tried finding expo simulation but i don’t think my camera has that does anyone have any tips for this?

What shooting mode setting are you using on the top dial? Does this issue occur when the top dial is set to the Green [A+] mode?

it gets darker as i move the dials up, in P it is clear as day, but in M it’s very dark and you cannot see

Strongly recommend you download the PDF version of the camera manual. That allows you to search for specific text strings like exposure simulation.

If you have it on your phone or tablet it's an instant reference source.

In P Mode, your camera is choosing the settings for you to achieve a good exposure.

In M (or Manual) Mode, you are choosing the settings. It's possible that you have selected a set of settings in a previous session that render your screen too hard to see.

Try putting your camera in P Mode and half-press your shutter. Your settings will appear at the bottom of your screen. Write down what those settings are.

Now, put your camera in Manual Mode and half-press your shutter again. Are the settings different from what you recorded when you were in P Mode?

If anything, I suspect that in Manual Mode, your shutter speed is way too high.

Also, there is a setting in the 3rd tab of your Wrench settings. It's called Display Settings. If you choose Manual, you can elect to have either the screen, or the viewfinder for your display. Is yours on Manual, or is it in Auto?
