All of my EF and EF-S lenses work better with my EOS R5 than they did with my EOS 80D.

It took me a while to learn the differences between DSLR and mirrorless and adapt my camera settings and habits.

Thanks for the response.

So the lens attached to the camera only changes the Zoom, correct? All remaining functions are through the camera?

If the lens has an AF switch, then AF is turned on or off using the switch on the lens.

If the lens has an IS switch, then IS is turned on or off using the switch on the lens.

The focus ring on the lens will behave similar to how it does on a DLSR.

For a lens that has no electronics, it will be necessary to set the camera to make a photo with no lens attached because in that case the camera cannot communicate with the lens.

The manual for the EOS R7 is at: https://cam.start.canon/en/C005/manual/html/index.html
