topic Problems tethering EOS 5D Mark IV into Lightroom Classic in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

Trying to tether 5D Mark IV into Lightroom Classic on brand new MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.5. I’ve tried two different Canon 5D mark IV’s, two cords switched camera on and off rebooted computer, reinstalled Adobe Creative Suit etc. Mac did recognize the camera a couple times but since then nothing. My 5D Mark iiii tethers just fine. The Mark IV tethers fine into Mac Book Pro running Ventura 13.6.7. Getting a “busy” notice on camera while camera is tethered and I depress shutter release part way. Any thoughts/solutions much appreciated.

Hello TLandrum,

Have you tried the camera in our EOS Utility software to see if that works? You can download that HERE to test it. Be sure to select your correct OS version if necessary. On your MAC, please go ahead and open up a program called ImageCapture. To open ImageCapture, please go into Finder (the little face) on your dock, then go to [Applications] on the left side, and open the program [ImageCapture]. Please verify the camera is being detected as a device in the upper left corner of “Image Capture”. If so, then you can set what software to use with your camera. In the bottom left corner of the [Image Capture] window is a dropdown box.
