topic Canon R5 raw video colour issue in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

When I shoot video on my R5 in raw mode the CRM files load into both Resolve and Premiere looking very yellow - please see example here - https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/f3f40i4xtdsl0f4fmmcsd/Screenshot-2024-07-18-at-1.39.09-PM.png?rlkey=c8axgcbvynw5qgd1tnxqxp7r8&dl=0.

If I play them on the back of the camera they look normal. It's not a white balance issue and I've played around with all of the raw/clog settings and the same same result occurs. If I set the camera to c-log 3 without view assist it also looks yellow on the camera LCD too but not on other settings. Shooting any non-raw setting such as MP4's they load normally into the software. Any ideas please?

Hello twjroe,

I would suggest trying to view the footage in our Canon RAW Development software to see if you're getting the same results. The RAW footage looks fine on the camera you said, so I believe the software may be the issue. The LOG footage will have a dull look to it, not necessarily yellow-tinted though. You can download the Canon RAW Development software HERE. You may have to click {Load More] at the bottom of the list a few times to get to the download.

Hi John, thanks for this, unfortunately the same issue happens in the canon software. The thumbnails look fine but the main raw file is yellow. Please find a screen shot and example raw file/MP4 here - https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/gle91foqhcnmbqdafqhfe/AKNqTniktGmBOXwC2Cnfs0Q?rlkey=x2fl0pkopnwid0sf3czlu2abt&dl=0.

Please note the MP4 file was shot simultaneously to a different card and is fine. Only the raw file is yellow.

Thanks

Tom
