Is there a way to set minimum shutter speed for fv mode on r10?

Whenever you press „bin” button all settings revert to auto,shutter,aperture and iso. Shutter seems to be set to 1/60 which I would like to increase.

I have an R5, so this may not apply, but…. On the “Camera” set of options, there is an “ISO speed settings” item. The last item on the list is “Min. shutter speed”….. it may be set to auto….select that and you get a small Slower/Faster option. Alternatively you can choose manual and set your own….. as i say - may not be the same.

The EOS R10 does have a setting in the custom functions menu tab to allow you to restrict the shutter speed range. On my EOS R10 I can set the range from 1/125 to 1/4000 and then when I press the "bin" button the shutter speed slowest setting will be 1/125. However this is a hard limit, you can not select any shutter speed less than 1/125 in this configuration.

With the camera choosing all the three parameters; shutter speed, aperture and ISO then it will try to maintain a suitable shutter speed for handholding, which also depends on the lens in use as well as the current light level. Unfortunately the min shutter speed setting for ISO auto is not used when the camera is set to Fv mode.

If you really want to control the shutter speed yourself then maybe give Tv mode a try with auto ISO. This would let you choose the shutter speed and the camera will determine an appropriate aperture and ISO value for the current light level.

Thank you, I can’t find the setting. “ set shutter speed range “ allows to set as low as 30s so that can’t be the one you mentioned?

You need to look at the camera custom functions... here's the screen captures from my EOS R10, note you have separate settings for electronic shutter and manual or first curtain electronic shutter modes.

These limits of shutter speed will apply to every mode on the camera, not just Fv mode. However if you want to use a custom mode C1 or C2 as a second Fv mode, then you can apply this shutter speed limit only when using the custom mode.

Thank you, I just adjusted the settings. Only wanted to clarify that I can in fact set other values than 1/125 both 1/60 and 1/250 and more can be set both for mechanical and electrical shutter speed. Thank you that worked, last time I missed bit shot because of 1/60 which came out blurry.

Yes you can set the limit at the shutter speed of your choice at least in whole stops. So can be 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000 or 1/15, 1/8 etc to suit your needs
