topic EOS R7: error 80 in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

I'm getting an error 80 when shooting time lapse with an external npf 960 battery. I get the error with two different batteries and in two different battery holders. I've used both holders for long video recording without incident. When I use an in camera battery time lapse shooting works fine.

The NPF 960 battery sounds like a Sony type battery. Therefore I assume you have an external power pack to run the EOS R7 camera from for long video shooting. It could be that this external power solution is not compatible with the time-lapse capability of the camera.

More importantly the camera works as expected with it's own LP-E6NH battery so the fault must be with the external supply you are using.

Error 80 is explained on the Canon support site

Sounds like a good candidate for a firmware update.
