Hello,

Will the Speedlite 470EX-AI work on the Canon EOS R7? I know it says EX will, but just wanted to make sure.

Yes it's fully compatible including the AI Bounce feature. Note the IR AF Assist is NOT COMPATIBLE with ANY mirrorless camera. The speedlite's AF Assist Beam will automatically switch to Intermittent Flash Firing. Regardless of the AF Assist Beam projection method. Note depending on the ambient lighting an LED AF Assist Beam may be projected by the camera body instead of the speedlite. With the speedlite set to Intermittent Flash Firing and color filter or flash diffuser attached. The camera body will emit an LED AF Assist Beam instead. Since Intermittent Flash Firing DOES NOT work with a color filter or flash diffuser attached to the speedlite. The AF Assist Beam ONLY works with One Shot AF NOT Servo AF.
