EOS 70D sound recording options

So on the canon 70d - The sound recording option- on this particular camera gives options of ‘on’ or ‘off’ - every other canon I’ve worked with, and I own 3 70D’s, the options are ‘auto’ and ‘manual’ I need ‘auto’ and ‘manual’ to hook up my sound gear properly. On or off doesn’t get me anywhere. I can’t see anyone having this issue on line so I’m striking out as to how to fix it. Any ideas?

Have you tried resetting the problematic camera back to factory defaults? Perhaps some setting that was enabled is precluding it from being set up as your other cameras.

Double check the mode dial and make sure you are not in one of the "Basic Zones".
