EOS Rebel XS won't format 128GB card

I have tried to format my SanDisk 128GB on my camera and it does not allow me to format the card. Anyone have an idea how i can get this formatting done?

Your camera isn't compatible with SDXC cards (cards with capacities above 32 GB). You can only use SD, or SDHC cards. See page 2 of the User Manual.

Note that "SD" in the previous sentence means the specific original SD card and not the general term.

i have been using the SDXC in my camera and have not really had any problems. Im not sure why it will not format now. Is there something i can do on the Macbook Pro to maybe get around this? Could there possibly be something wrong with the camera. If what you said, are those SD cards still an available. Thanks for the reply, just puzzled.

As stated, your camera can only use SD or SDHC cards. Anything above 32 GB in capacity will definitely cause issues. The camera has no idea how to work with the newer higher capacity cards that came out after SDHC.
