Hi Greg,

The other community members can comment, but it sounds like you may have the Self-timer function enabled. You can find details on page 71 of the T2i manual: https://canon.us/47xy64g

I saw a couple others with similar problems and they did not get the answer needed.

I inherited a Canon EOS Rebel T2i. I have been using 35mm cameras for...well, a very long time.

My problem is when taking a photo with this one, I hold the shutter down halfwat, then all the way down. It starts beeping for about12 seconds, then a very fast beeping for 3 or 4 seconds before it finally takes a photo. I can either hold the shutter down all the time it's beeping, or release it. No difference. This is in most settings; Auto, P, Sport, etc. Something must have been changed because this can't be normal. I cleaned all connections on camera and both lenses. Now what?

You are in self timer mode. Here is the page to set it:

To unset it, chose the icon all the way to the left, single shot.

Ron,

You nailed it! I never use that feature so didn't not realize the problem. Changed it and works perfect now!

Thanks a LOT.

Greg
