A couple of settings will impact battery usage. In the focusing menu, check that the camera has an option set for continuous autofocus, if it has turn it off. This causes the camera to continuously seek focus even when you are carrying it around if the camera is on.
The other would be in the power setting itself, in the wrench menu. Check out the various settings and see if the camera is trying to save energy, it may be set to stay on, continuously display images etc.

What lens are you using? And do you typically have IS engaged in it?

Do you have WiFi enabled or other types of communications?

When in doubt, you can reset the camera back to default settings and see if the situation improves.
