Operating temperatures for Canon EOS M200

I recently got a new camera for Christmas, and the unusually nice weather we've been having for this time of the year is about to come to an end in the next few days. I've read the operating manual, and it says the ideal operating temperature for my camera is 0°C - 40°C, which wouldn't be a problem except the temperatures are about to drop to anywhere from -16°C to -40°C with snow. My question is would I be okay to still take photos for short periods of time during the weeks where it's really cold, or should I just retire my camera till it gets a bit warmer again? I really don't want to stop taking photos for weeks on end, but at the same time I also don't want to damage my camera

No damage would occur. Reduced battery life due to cold and most important follow the guidance on how to protect camera when coming in from the cold.
