I recently purchased the Canon EOS R7 one month ago. While taking pictures with the camera today, the pictures on the viewfinder started flashing a black outline on the viewfinder screen. I had this happen with my Canon EOS 70D several years ago and the screen (viewfinder) eventually went completely black. I sent the EOS 70D back to Canon to have it repaired. Now, the new EOS R7, at one month has started doing the same thing. I haven't even made the first payment on the new Canon yet and so far, I am not pleased with the camera.

Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What lenses are you using. The common link would be a lens with a failing aperture motor.

Greetings ,

Sorry to hear about your issue. I've never had an issue like this with any of my cameras. Strange you've had two. Is it possible you have the proximity sensor near the EVF obstructed in any way?

Do you have more than one lens you can test with? Is your battery the one that came with your camera or aftermarket?
