Is it a full size card or a micro card with adapter? Micro cards are unreliable on a Canon.

Sometimes, a card can get fragmented with a lot of file creations and erasures, or even "quarantine" what it considers bad sectors. Try a low-level format.

Camera says, "Memory Card Full" - EOS R7

I have a EOS R7 and for some reason my camera won't let me take more photos because it says my card is full. Then when I push the review button, it says the card is empty. I pulled it up on my computer and the card is empty. The memory card is a Extreme Pro 256gb. I tried inserting another empty card and it's doing the same thing.
I reset the camera to its original settings but it didn't help.

Any ideas?

Verify that the write-protect switch on the card hasn't been enaged.

If that's not it, try removing the battery, let the camera sit for at least 30 seconds, re-insert the battery and see if any change.

Beyond that, potentially an issue with the card slot itself? If you have an air blower, use that to see if there's any debris in it.

Sometimes, SD cards are NOT what they appear to be. And counterfeit cards can have a very convincing label put on them that resemble a better known brand name.

https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/General-Discussion/SD-Card-surprise/m-p/298627
