EOS R6 - Where to Find Photos

EOS R6 mark II

I have a new Canon EOS R6, I formatted my SD card in the camera. I took over 200 photos and can not find them anywhere. I have tried on both the camera and my MAC. any suggestoins please?

When you insert the SD card into the camera (hopefully it's a full-sized card and not a micro-SD with adapter), can you review the images with the camera?

What specific Macintosh do you have? One with a built-in SD card reader? If so, did you see an icon show up in Finder on the desktop when you inserted it? If not, you may need to adjust your Finder settings to:

Show these items on the desktop:

[X] Hard disks
[X] External disks
[X] CDs, DVDs, and iPods

The SD card is full size, I formatted it "in camera" before shooting. I am unable to view the images in the camera and on the Mac, I have also tried in my MacBook with a card reader.

The R6 has two cards, are you saving to just one of them?

I had both cards in the camera, both formatted at the same time and no images on either card.

With the cards in the camera, try to plug a USB-C cable into the Mac and camera and run image capture. Does anything show up?

This may sound like a dumb question, but are you sure the write-protection switches on the cards are not in the locked position?

Both cards do not format at the same time.

Did you delete any photos in the camera before you tried to download the image files.?

Thank you for the advice, my Mac does not have a card reader, I therefore use an external reader connected to the computer. The SD card is recognised but I am unable to locate any photos on this occasion. I have never had a problem with this before.
