topic Canon EOS 5D - ERR 99 in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

I picked up a canon eos 5D body only for free from my old employer. I have bought a battery charger and completely recharged the battery. The camera was kicking into life but said ‘NO CF CARD’. I purchased a compact flash card online, albeit quite an old card, and put it into the camera. The camera now seems completely void and a solid red light comes up next to the set wheel. I’m really not into photography but really wanting this to work so I can give it a try. It’s also my mums wedding in a few months so hoping this bad boy will be working. Any ideas folks?

Error 99 is a malfunction in the shutter has been detected. So camera is likely done.
