Your camera is NOT rated for water resistance. So the camera will need a trip to Canon for repair. But get a quote first before repairs are made. Repairs often exceed the value of Rebel series cameras.

Get a quote for repair; as said, repair can be more than buying a new camera. I have a T7 but SWMBO gave me a rain cover last Christmas. Carry it in my kit. Rice will only remove part of the moisture. Set the camera out somewhere to dry thoroughly. Try this first.

You could try this: remove the battery, memory card, and lens. Place the camera on a heating pad for several days and see if that helps. This should have been done right after getting wet, but maybe it will work.
