Ty so much I'll be sure to look into the other Camara in the future! Just a harder lens to get used to.

Do I need an adapter for EOS M50 Mark II?

I recently bought a Cannon Eos M50 Mark 2 for my wife and the lens it came with is ok. She wants to do macro photography with it, so I bought the Brightin Star 60mm f 2.8. We went with this option since it was the cheaper one and didn't want to spend too much to see if she likes doing it. We put the lens on the camara and it's not letting her snap pictures anymore with that lens on it. Do I need the mount for it to work? I'm assuming I do but it's hard to tell when we're both new to the world of photography.

Did you get the version with the "Canon EOS-M" mount? If not, you'll need to return it.

Also, it may be worthwhile to return anyhow and the quality you'll get from that lens would most likely not be good.

FYI: You may also want to reconsider the EOS M-series purchase since that product line is rather a dead-end. Canon's newest line (and a line that will be far longer maintained that the M-series) is the new R-series cameras. The EOS R50 is very close to the EOS M50. An even smaller version is also available which would be the EOS R100.

Yeah I'm almost positive I got the one with the eos m. This is the one I bought https://a.co/d/4WdKQXo. Won't be able to return it since we've had it for like 2 months now. Maybe in the future we'll look into a different camera.

That should be the correct mount (when I click the link, it does highlight the "EOS-M" option.

Ah, I just noticed that this is a manual focus lens. It may be necessary to go into the camera's settings and enable the "Release shutter without lens" feature. See pages 634 to 636 of the User Manual to configure the custom settings.
