Remove the memory card, lens (re-install the body cap in its place), and remove any additional accessories (flash, etc.).

Then, remove the battery, let the camera sit for a while (a minute should suffice), re-insert the battery and power on.

Is the camera now functioning? If so, turn off, re-attach the lens and try again. If all still good, re-insert the memory card. Should probably reset the camera just in case too.

If the camera still doesn't function after these steps, contact Canon to see about having your camera repaired.
