The problem with that is that the repair WILL exceed the value of the camera. Your camera is ONLY worth $170. So there isn't much room for repair.

I have a -new to me- used T5. The shutter button seems to have come off. Is there a way to get a new button and replace it myself or should I take it to a shop? It makes it really hard to use. I do think I also may have to review the "sticky button" comments because before the button decided to exit stage left, it was also hard to take pictures in autofocus (a must for me with vision issues.)

Repair may exceed the cost of your camera. Replacement maybe the best option at this point. Canon no longer repairs that camera anymore. But a 3rd Party repair shop maybe able to repair it.

Thanks, I will look into a 3rd party repair. The camera is still good and takes beautiful pictures. Its just not that easy.

Demetrius is correct. This might be a complete top assembly. I doubt repair will be a good financial decision. You can always inquire.

Try midwestcamerarepair dot com.
