Hi everyone,

I just bought a brand new Canon 100-400 4.5-5.6 MK2. I have just put it on my Canon 6D. I am only getting F5.6 and not F4.5. Is there any setting i need to change?

Thank you

you need to zoom closer.

4.5 is the minimum at 100 mm, while 5.6 is the minimum at 400.

Keep in mind a variable aperture lens is not its most wide open aperture 1mm below is shortest FL, 101mm in your case. It is a gradual decline for sure but a decline never-the-less.
