Hard to get good image from Sigma HSM Art 24-70 2.8 DG lens on EOS M50

Hello Canon Community. I have been using my sigma lense with a connected mount to my Mirrorless M50 for a little while but it seems like I have to work extremely hard to get super good image. I've been shooting for a couple of years manually and I am knowledgeable but it just seems like there is something I just can't seem to put my finger on. I primarily do Studio portraits amd have been doing Corporate Events. I am actually considering another camera body and want to stick with Canon but have grown to love Sigma products. Help! Lol

Hi @Kameshaals1988 what do you mean by “Mirrorless M50 for a little while but it seems like I have to work extremely hard to get super good image.” Can you please explain in detail for the community what the problem is. I highly recommend sticking with the OEM Canon EF to EF-M Mount adapter. 3rd Party Mount Adapters are nothing but trouble.

"Can you please explain in detail ..."

Or provide a sample image with all the data. I know of no reason why a Sigma lens wouldn't work on a M50. But in fact I am not the M series fan at all.

"I am actually considering another camera body and want to stick with Canon ..."

I would entertain that idea if it was me If you want to stay EF, EFs models look at a 90D. It is a far, far better camera than the M50. There is no good reason to not stay Canon just because you want to use Sigma lenses.

Just curious but why? In today's photography world manual is the last resort when all other options or settings don't work and that will be a very rare situation for sure. Camaras are smarter than you might think and they are getting smarter all the time.

Most likely to conserve battery power. The EF mount lenses with autofocus were a significant drain on the battery of my M3. I eventually settled on only one of two lenses. A Conon EF-M 22mm and a Rokinon 14mm T3.1 cinema lens, which was fully manual.
