      <description>&lt;P&gt;Honestly between shipping expense and repair you would probably be better off buying a used lens in excellent condition. I took a look at MPB and KEH and found some in the $500 - $600 range. When you look at the total cost of repair plus shipping there probably won't be much difference.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I agree shipping, insurance, parts and labor is probably going to exceed the lens value but the estimate is free if you want to send it in to Canon.&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;1 (800) 652-2666&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Example: I bought a P&amp;amp;S camera for my wife at $85. Lens wouldn't retract. Local camera shop quoted $100 to fix it.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
