RF 16mm f2.8 lens looks cropped on EOS R

Title pm. i have the 16mm prime on the EOS R full frame, and it looks to be cropped when compared to my friend’s 16mm by quite a bit.

could there be a crop mode/ setting on my camera that is contributing to this?

Greetings,

The RF 16 mm f2.8 is a full frame lens. The EOS R is a full frame camera. No cropping occurs except in video mode. Are you using an aspect setting other than 3:2 for still photos?

If this is the original EOS R, then when it is shooting movies in 4K a crop is automatically used,
