topic EOS RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens stuck, will not articulate in EF & RF Lenses

Recently purchased Canon EOS R50 and 18-45mm lens, dropped it very lightly onto some carpet from a foot or two up, lens will no longer retract, control ring moves but does not articulate the lens even after making sure it was enabled in settings, screen shows that when the control ring is moved the displayed zoom still changes normally as if the lens were articulating.

This was my first use of the camera after purchasing it two days ago but it worked perfectly for about an hour up until it was barely dropped.

I don't know if there is a "it was barely dropped" category. At this point you need to call Canon 1 (800) 652-2666 and set up a service ticket. It most likely will not be warranty since it was dropped but Canon can and will assist you.
