All camera lenses have focus breathing to some degree. So, it is best to learn to live with it.

I suggest you check out Ken Rockwell's reviews. He gives a subjective opinion on focus breathing for each lens.

For example, here is his comment on the new 24mm VCM:

"Focus breathing is the image changing size (growing and shrinking slightly) as focused in and out. It's important to cinematographers that the image not breathe (change size) as focus gets pulled back and forth between different actors as they speak. The image is said to breathe because it expands and contracts as the focus follows the dialog back and forth.

The image from this 24/1.4 becomes smaller as focused more closely. While it's obvious at f/16 when focused quickly from very close to very far, at reasonable apertures and smaller focus increments I doubt that anyone will notice."
