The 18-150 is a pretty good quality lens. And it covers a wide range of focal lengths in a very compact and light package. So it's great for travel or situations where you can't carry multiple lenses. It's also a GREAT deal when offered as part of a kit. I think you'd be very wise to buy it. The RF 24-240 covers a wider range but is also bigger, heavier, and a lot more expensive.

I can't speak specifically about the RF 18-150, but in general, lenses without a tension control ring do creep when the barrel is pointed down, particularly when jostled when walking. Some worse than others, in fact, I have some L series zoom lenses that creep when the tension ring is set to be loose.

I've never used that particular lens, but this kind of thing is quite normal with zoom lenses. Some lenses (like my RF 70-200 f/4.0) have a lock switch to lock the lens barrel in and prevent this creep.
