All RF and RF-S lenses work on ALL EOS R series cameras. RF-S lenses will automatically make a Full Frame EOS R series camera apply a 1.6x crop to avoid vignetting. It will also decrease the megapixel output by a factor of 2.56x. You maybe mixing EF and EF-S from the DSLR days. EF-S lenses WILL NOT mount a Full Frame DSLR or EOS 35mm film camera. But all EF lenses work on ALL EOS DSLRs regardless of APS-C or Full Frame.

What rf canon lenses work on both a Canon R7 and a Canon R6 ii? For example, I read the 24-105mm f/4 L will not work on the R7 while me 100-500mm works on both.

Greetings,

it sounds like you may be misinterpreting what you're reading.

Any Canon RF lens will work on full frame or crop sensor R series mirrorless body. RF-S lenses while designed for body's with APS-C sensors can also be used on full frame mirrorless body's. However, because the image circle they project is smaller than a full frame lens, they won't allow you to use the maximum resolution (capability) of the full frame sensor.
