I think you will find that the limitation of the AF performance is down to the EOS R body more than the RF lens you put on it. EOS R was introduced with the RF 24-105mm F4L IS USM lens, and I know that the lens performs much better when used on later EOS R-series cameras.

Hey everyone, thinking about getting this lens for my EOS R and was wondering how the video autofocus performance was. Right now im using the non L version of the lens and the autofocus is super slow. Anyone have any experience with this lens and camera for video https://tutuapp.uno/ ?

I agree with my colleague Brian. The early R model cameras were somewhat tepid in their performance relative to the later models - they are, after all, a six year-old design. If you really want to up the focus performance I would thus consider a body upgrade to the R6 or R6II. Also, make sure you have LP-6NH batteries - as energy levels drop the performance can slow.

As regards the lens: I have the RF 14-105L f/4 and find it very fast to focus and has good optical performance when I use it on the R5, R6 and R6II.
