Hi all,

I recently purchased a mint looking used an EF 24-105mm F4 L gen II Lens. It takes great pictures..I love it alot more than the Gen 1 I had previously. I didn't notice it at first, but now I see there's a decent amount of play on the outer lens barrel and wobbles side to side when it get extended further and further out to 105mm. I've read this is quite common on the RF model of the same lens but I wanted to see if it's normal foe the EF Gen II model. It really bothers me every time I shoot with it so I think I'm going to sell it. Is this something I should disclose in the listing and sell for less than I normally would..or is this quite common with this particular pens and it's just what it is.. again, pictures are all great.

1. you state that lens works great -i.e. it is doing its job.

2. if you sell you will not get what you paid for it. Then you will need to purchase a new one (what if the wobble turns out to be normal and the new lens has it?)

3. send it to Canon for a service check. They will fix it up (if it needs it) and it will offset the lost dollars if you sell it.

Canon has a tiered approach to service depending on lens and reported problem. If you register your product and then go to the service site you can start the process and get an estimate. Actual cost will depend on what they actually find if you send lens in.
I have been charged less than estimated when they looked at lens.
