One lens for Japan: 24-70, 70-200, 10-22, or 24-105?

Hello, I have a EOS R6, adapter, and EF 24-70 f2.8 USM, 70-200 f2.8 USM, and 10-22 3.5-4.5 USM lenses.

Will be able to get by with the 24-70? Or should I get the new 24-105 2.8? It's very expensive so I think I can take all the picture I want with the old 24-70. The 70-200 is kinda heavy packing light.

Also, should I take the R6 up a Mt. Fuji climb or just use my iphone 14Maxpro?

The 24-70 f/2.8 is a must. The 70-200 f/2.8, if space allows. The EF-S 10-22 is made for crop sensor bodies. Leave it at home.

OK the question is what "one" lens should you take? Correct? I would take the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens. It is cheaper the the f2.8 version and you will never miss the stop.

You are kidding? My 1 series goes everywhere I go whichever 1 series I had at the time that is. I didn't buy a top of the line camera and top of the line lenses to use a iPhone.🙄 Take the R6 and RF 24-105mm f/4 lens. Get youself a shoulder strap like the Black Rapid.

Question: Wasn't there something about blocking tourists from taking photos of Mt. Fuji? This was in a city, nothing about climbing Mt. Fuji.

Now we would like to see some photos when you get back.

If you already own an EF 24-70 f:2.8, why would you want to buy a 24-105 f/4?

OK the direct answer is, yes, the OP can get by with his lens. However, he asked what "one" lens should he take, IMHO, I would prefer the 24-105mm f2.8 but he complained about price so that puts the 24-105mm f4 as the choice. This should not be that difficult to understand. 105mm vs 70mm in wanting a single lens is preferrable.

Maybe Roysan needs to review recent photos to see what focal lengths are most commonly used.

Yes, the same day I arrived there, May 21. Not a problem if you are tall. Don't know how it looks now because it was full of holes when I left.

I bring my EF24-105/4L IS USM on all my trips. If I want something wider I take panorama. Taisetzusan in Japan below.

Iceland and Eyjafjallajökull below.

Last month I also brought my EF75-300. Cheap enough to be in checked luggage, light weight and not too bad quality stopped down and with a lens profile. My prime lenses are too heavy.

With only one lens to bring I would say 24-105/4, any version. The second choice would be the heavier 24-70.

And just one more thing. In Japan the humidity is high. I used zip bags with silica gel to protect my gear from fungus.
