And I would advise you check out the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2. Although the Sigma C version of the150-600mm is a fine lens, I have one, the Tamron G2 is a tad bit better and for whatever it's worth is weather sealed. Just because your camera isn't weather sealed is not a good reason to not consider a lens that is. Buying today the Tamron is the one I would choose.

Whether you buy the Sigma or the Tamron always hold the combo by the lens and not the camera. Also a strap like the Black Rapid will make carrying the combo a lot easier.

Hello I am going to Yellow Stone next summer and need a good lens for capturing the bison. I wanted to know before spending a 1000 dollars if the Sigma 150-600 mm will fit my canon camera EOS rebel T3?

Hi and welcome to the forum, Zeke:

The Sigma 150-600c is an excellent lens for wildlife. It is relatively light (for a super-tele zoom), has a good build (although not weather-sealed but neither is your camera), has great stabilization and is a fine optic. There are lots of reviews in that vein on You Tube or elsewhere on the web. I had one for quite a few years before I moved on to an RF lens for my R-series camera bodies.
I don't live in North America any more, so I chose a variety of animals that I have photographed here in NZ, where we have no native macro mammals, but I hope some zoo and wildlife park shots will assist.

All of the following images were taken with the Sigma 150-600c, hand-held, available light.
EOS 7DII, Sigma 150-600@560mm, f/8, 1/50sec, ISO-200
80D, Sigma 150-600@260mm, f/5.6, 1/100sec, ISO-320 80D, Sigma 150-600@ 435mm, f/6.3, 1/250sec, ISO-1000
R6II, Sigma 150-600@403mm, f/7.1, 1/80sec, ISO-100 R5, Sigma 150-600@600mm, f/7.1, 1/640sec, ISO-1250

I have a T7 and find the Sigma 150-600 lens to be a good lens. I have used it with a tripod for wildlife photos. I also use a monopod for more portability. A word here: I see videos about people having close encounters with wildlife in Yellowstone.

Yeah, the moose was far away, but you often come across bison crossing the road, no long lens needed.
