black circle on eos r6 mark ii with mount adapter r and a 24-105mm 4.0l lens

Hi - just bought the r6 mark ii and got a mount adapter to work with my existing canon lenses. It works fine on my 70-200 but when I put on my 24-105MM it creates a black circle between 24-70mm but is fine from 70-105mm. Is this normal? Bummed... thank you

Which mount adapter did you get?

Am I correct to assume it wasn't the Canon adapter or Control ring adapter?

I suspect this is related to a setting.

Can you please reset the cameras main and custom settings to default and retest.

I just reset the basic settings and each of the custom settings though don’t believe I have changed anything yet as it’s brand new and still having the problem

Does the size of the black circle change depending on the zoom position. So it’s covering more of the image at 24mm and almost nothing at 60mm?

if so it could be that the aperture assembly is sticking in the lens. With the lens on the camera and set to 24mm lens ok through from the front and see if the aperture looks closed. It should open when the power is on.

The black circle covers much more of the frame at 24 and nothing by the time it gets to 70 scaling down between the

Oh wow - I feel stupid but happy. Thank you ! I was using with hood that came with my 24-70 2.8l which apparently is different than the one that comes with 24-105 4l. I hadn’t realized that as I recently broke my 24-70 and 6d and bought the r6 as a replacement and am using my dads 24-105
