Personally I wouldn't know since I dislike extenders and almost never use them although I have six or seven. I almost never recommend anyone buy one especially the 2x models. I only know of two lenses that I consider worthy enough to use a 14x tel-con and then only very seldomly.

But that is me and you said, "... I haven't found this to be all that bad?" If you think it is good enough and you are happy with the results you get, that is all that is important and required. What somebody else thinks is moot

Recently got a steal for the rf 100-500 and rf extenders (1.4, 2) for 1900 total.

I read and watch prior how there are limitations on focal length. However I haven't found this to be all that bad?

If I plan on using the extenders, I'm already preemptively wanting to shoot beyond the 500mm mark.

The IQ to my surprised have been very good, and I was able to shoot some pretty solid videos handheld at 800-1000mm.

Not bad at all
