Hell Rescuelouemt408 welcome to the forums. For your Rebel you can use both EF and EF-S lenses. For your 1D Mark IV you must use EF lenses you CAN NOT USE EF-S lenses. Both of your cameras CAN NOT USE RF, RF-S, or EF-M lenses.

EF (Full Frame & APS-H) Compatible with your 1D Mark IV & Rebel series camera
EF-S (APS-C) Only compatible with your Rebel series camera. These lenses are intentionally designed NOT to mount on your 1D Mark IV.

RF-S (APS-C R series Mirrorless)
EF-M (APS-C M series Mirrorless)

Are you looking for more lenses to go with your 1D Mark IV. If so what lenses are you looking for. You also have to factor in that your 1D Mark IV is an APS-H camera. Which means that your camera has a 1.3x crop factor. For instance a 50mm lens on Full Frame would have the same AOV as 65mm on your 1D Mark IV. Your Rebel is an APS-C camera which has a 1.6x crop factor. For instance a 50mm lens on Full Frame camera would have the same AOV as 80mm on your Rebel.

Which version of the 24-105mm. Canon has made 3 versions of which 2 of them are current. Are you looking for the 24-105mm F/4L IS II USM lens. Or the 204-105mm F/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens.

Do you have a budget to spend on a lens. L series lenses are expensive because they're are Canon's pro lenses. The 24-105mm STM may be a better choice if you can't afford the 24&105mm F/4L version.

STM, USM, DC Motor, AFD and Micro Motor are different types of AF Motors. Canon's EF Mount has never used an AF motor in the camera body. There are different types of USM motors. Ring Type USM (the best), Nano USM and Micro Motor. Also if a lens says "IS" it means it's stabilized.

Did your Rebel limit you to certain things that you needed. Also which Rebel series camera do you have. Canon has released many Rebel model cameras over the years.

I have a rebel ca and it has been very good to me over the years but I wanted something more and newer so I was looking into the rebel sl3 but it wasn't really what I was looking for. I'm thinking of turning my hobby for photo making into something that I can make a profit and I didn't think that the rebel sl3 was professional looking. And now that I purchased the 1 D mark IV canon camera I realized that I made a mistake.

The Rebel has 3 levels of cameras the beginner level is the SL3. The mid range Rebel is the Rebel T7 and the high end Rebel is the Rebel T8i. But in general the Rebel is the entry model camera lineup. Then there is the X0D series ie the 80D and 90D which is the midrange APS-C camera. Then the XD series ie 5D series, 6D series and the 1D series (All current 1D series cameras are Full Frame) these cameras are Full Frame. Except the 7D Series which was Canon's Flagship APS-C body.
