Camera is fine but was dropped about 3-ft when strap came loose. The lens absorbed most of the fall with zoom & focus now jammed & you can see some misalignment of both. After viewing some YouTube videos I may try to disassemble my self. Not hearing anything rattling around so am hopeful nothing is broken but is just misaligned. With today’s labor rates is it more cost effective to buy a used lens instead of seeking professional repair? I’m not apt to buy a new one.

Repair of that lens is iffy at best. Too much plastic but it might be fun to take it apart and see. Take pictures of it along the way just in case.

Painful disassembly as the screws are so small but its fubar. You are correct in that it’s all plastic and I found 2-broken parts. Sad!
