I have the opportunity to purchase a Canon 28-70 f2.8 l lens. I'm shooting on a 60d and currently don't have any high quality lenses. Just looking for some opinions on this lens before I pull the trigger. Thanks for your time!

The Canon EF28-70mm f/2.8 L is a very old lens and not up to todays standard for sharpness. You will need to stop it down to get maximum sharpness and that kind of defeats the advantage of a fast f/2.8 lens. It is also no longer able to be seviced by Canon. They sell for about $400-$500 so if you got a real good deal and paid less than that, it might be worth it.

"I have the opportunity to purchase a Canon 28-70 f2.8 l lens."

I had one for years. I disagree with the above review. It is a very nice lens with decent IQ for general work. At one time it was the Canon work horse for sure. It is also a pretty durable lens so if in good working order, I would buy it. I would rather have the Canon ef 28-70mm f2.8L than some, or most, of the off brand lenses out there.
