Yes, EF-mount lenses work on all EOS bodies, film and digital.

Yes as stated.

But you will see a significant slow AFing with older lenses so, sooner or later you would want to move to new lenses that are additionally better built for digital sensors.

Advantage of old AF lenses is that they are EF, that means work both on cropped and Full Frame camera bodies.
