Hi folks. I have a couple EF lenses I decided to use with my RP (EF16-35mm 1:4L and EF100-400mm). Is there a significant difference in performance or image quaility converting the EF lenses to RF mount?

No, there is no degradation of the image since there is no glass in the adapter.

But I would get a Canon adapter for electronics compatibility.

And note that the camera will limit the sensor area to crop frame if you use an EF-S lens.

If I had an R camera and EF lenses I would buy the adapter. But I hate adapters even though they may not harm IQ or function. So, it would not be an option I would embrace. An adapter whether it works or not is just another gadget you need to keep track of. Just one of the pains of switching systems.

BTW, I don't like tel-cons either!

On the other hand if you no longer intend on using your EF camera any longer, why not sell your EF gear? Start the new R system off right with R lenses!
