hello i have a friend who can sell me an sigma 150-500mm for $400 and just wondering if any of you have experience with this lens af wise and how sharp are the images compared to the 100-400 canon

That's a very good price. Can't compare to anything because I haven't shot it but there is a lot of info here that should help.

I have had experience with the Siggy. If you are expecting EF 100-400mm quality, you will be disappointed. If the price fits, you may well like it.

You will probably do better to use the Canon and shoot in RAW, crop and convert in DPP to the

size wanted.

Experiment if you can.
