It is repairable. It will be expensive but it already is an expensive lens. As you are very much aware of, I am sure.

I dropped my ef 85mm f1.2L mounted on my 1Ds Mk III on a tile floor and the entire front lens assembly had to be replaced. It cost $400 bucks. No damage to the Mk III.

The only place to send it for repair is Canon. Don't mess with anybody else.

Dropped 50mm 1.2: outlook?

I dropped my 50mm 1.2 from about 3ft. It no longer allows me to manually focus, and when I focus automatically the focus is always off. I plan to send it in to Canon soon, but it seems to me there's been structural damage, and I don't want to get my hopes up for repair. What do you think? Has anyone had any personal experience with dropped lenses being fixable or not? Thank you.

I would send it to Canon for repair. It is certainly fixable but the cost is unknown. How bad ? Post a few pictures for sharing please.

People attempted to repair a USM lens but not this lens.

http://www.instructables.com/id/RepairAdjustClean-Canon-17-55mm-f28-Dropped-/?ALLSTEPS

Also, see my other post

http://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Lenses/Canon-EF-24-70-F2-8-manual-focus-slip/m-p/165429#U165429
