    <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;"Is there any good gold ring lenses still out there worth buying today?"&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;You need to decide what you want to use the new lens for.&amp;nbsp; What doesn't the current 17-55mm not do for you?&amp;nbsp; Of course I understand getting a new lens just because.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;"I was looking at the 50 1.4..."&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;To me for a second lens I would not get a 50mil.&amp;nbsp; They are pretty hard to use "generally".&amp;nbsp; It is a more specialized lens.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Something in a mid to long tele would be a good choice.&amp;nbsp; EF 70-200mm for instance.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Are gold ring lenses still a good choice I currently own a 17-55mm 2.8 which is the best, but want am looking to buy something new. I was looking at the 50 1.4 but I’m not sure. Is there any good gold ring lenses still out there worth buying today? Thanks.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The gold ring was used to indicate a usm ultrasonic focus motor. &amp;nbsp;Later ones just said "ultrasonic". &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The 17-55 is indeed a great lens.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What do you have already and what sort of photography do you shoot?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
