MG5720 cannot change default paper type

Model MG 5720 printer. The printer insists on printing A4 paper type no matter what change I make to the paper type setting. I cannot get the printer to change to and print 81/2" x 11" paper setting. I have tried changing setting several times with no success. I have done a printer head alignment as well.

Hi gregs1,

Please follow these steps:

1. Press the HOME button on your PIXMA MG5720.

2. Press the up arrow 1 time.

3. Press the button under the screwdriver and wrench (Setup).

4. Press the right arrow to select Device Settings and press OK.

5. Use the down arrow to select Cassette settings and press OK.

6. Press OK on Register paper cassette info.

7. Press OK.

8. Use the arrow keys to set the Page size to Letter and press OK.

9. Use the arrow keys to select Plain paper and press OK.

Attempt to print.
