    <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, all the steps to resolve the print head and ink problems have not resolved the problem. All other features of the printer work save for the print function. I am now resorting to using an old Canon Pixma iP6210D connected in parallel. This stop-gap solution is only temporary until I get a new printer, possibly not a Canon given the short life of the MX712. Over to you.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi PeterJay,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;To determine if the inkjet nozzles are dispensing the ink correctly, we can print a nozzle check pattern from the printer.&amp;nbsp; To do this, please follow these steps:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;You need to prepare: a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;1. Make sure that the power is turned on.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;2. Make sure that one or more sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper are loaded in the cassette.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;3. Open the paper output tray gently.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;4.
