Is the Canon CLi 8R Red ink cartridge compatible with the IP4200 printer?

I inadertently purchased a couple of CLi 8R Red ink cartridges which were advertised as being compatible with the IP4200 printer. Then it dawned on me that this printer uses a CLi 8M Magenta cartridge.

Are these cartridges usable or should I get rid of them?

Hi MacEgel,

The CLI-8R ink tanks are incompatible with the PIXMA iP4200; you will need to use the CLI-8M ink tanks.
