PIXMA TS6020 "Ink Absorber Full" message

The "Ink Absorber is almost full" message keeps popping up on my TS6020. I removed and cleaned the absorber, but the message still comes up. Surely this error message doesn't mean replace the printer. Removing and cleaning the absorber was an easy task. Is there a way to reset the printer so this warning stops showing up?

Would buying a new absorber resolve the issue? If so, where can I order one?

The TS6020 is a 10-year-old printer. Unfortunately the ink absorber is not user serviceable. You are not able to simply clean or replace it. The printer has to be told the absorber has been serviced or replaced. This service is typically performed by Canon or a repair facility. The software to reset the ink counter is proprietary meaning it's not available to the public.

You can try to find the software online to do this, but I don't recommend it. Be careful if you try to download it from a third party software hosting website as it may come with undesirable extras like viruses or malware.

Canon has an upgrade program that gives you a small discount and free shipping on a new device. 866-443-8002 option 2. This is the avenue I recommend you pursue.

The product life cycle for this model is about 10 years. While it's still under support by Canon serviceability for this product could end at any time due to its age. A 10-year lifespan on a consumer inkjet is normal. 😉
