On the printer itself, go to Settings > Device Settings > LAN Settings > Print Lan Details (wording may vary) > Select OK/On to print the password in plain text.

On that printout, near the top for me was Product Information > Default Password. Its a random string of characters that is NO WHERE on the box/printer/manuals. Thanks canon...

Hi kincydenice,

The admin password is the serial number of your TR8620a.

When entering the password, please use all capital letters.

I have the same problem. The password TR8620a isn't working, nor is the serial number.

And is the user name my name or 'ADMIN'? Thanks. Frustrating!

Greetings @pr1nterssuck

Kind of you to try to provide this information. Unfortunately it's incorrect. The password that you've referenced is the printer's wireless direct password, not the admin password for the printer's user interface. This is the reason why it's under LAN Settings > Print Lan Details.

This password will not provide access to the printer's web server which is what the thread is referring to. 😉

The default password for the web server/remote UI is typically the printer's serial number, unless it's changed by the user. If this password is changed and you've forgotten it, you can call Canon support for assistance resetting it.

funny cause when I went to the login page for my printer, the serial number did not work either with capital letters, lowercase, combination there in even trying to swap out the zeros for the letter O's and vise versa. The only thing that let me into the web interface was the "Default Password" under "Product Information" bullet 1-4 after going to LAN Settings > Print LAN Details. This is a BRAND new printer from amazon, unopened box, still had all the shipping tape on the printer and ink, not a refurb... care to tell me how that is incorrect? lol
