Hi Santana,

The drivers for the PIXMA iP2600 can be downloaded from the Canon USA website. The following link will take you to the initial download page for your PIXMA iP2600:

Once on the initial download page for your model, please do the following:

1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.

2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "DRIVERS" section and click the printer driver file. When you do, another page will appear giving details of the file you are about to download will appear.

3. Please scroll down on the Details page and agree to the terms of the disclaimer message to continue with the download process by clicking on the "I AGREE - BEGIN DOWNLOAD" button. After clicking the "I AGREE - BEGIN DOWNLOAD" button, follow the instructions to download and install the driver. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.

hello, i just bought a canon pixma ip2600 from a friend. I would like to make it work with my hp windows 7 laptop. the only driver i could find was an add-on, not the original software/driver. i may be using the wrong words but i would like to install whatever i need to my computer to make them work together. can you please give me some information on how to do this?

Hi Santana! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that you need to install your PIXMA iP2600 without a disk.

If the printer is currently connected to your computer, I recommend disconnecting the USB cable and leaving it disconnected. Please make sure that the printer remains turned on and none of the lights (lamps) on the printer are blinking. If any of the lights are blinking, please skip to the second to last paragraph of this message for more details.

Next, please open the following website in another tab:

When that page is open, please click on the symbol for “Software & Drivers” to the right of the picture of your printer. After that, please make sure the correct Operating System and Version appears below the “Downloads” section.

Further down, you will see a list of software for your printer. Please scroll down that list and look for the iP2600 series Printer Driver Ver. 2.15 and click on the DOWNLOAD button to the right of that file.

When the file finishes downloading, please open it and allow it to run. Then, follow the instructions. At some point, you will be asked to connect the USB cable. Please wait for that instruction, and then connect the printer to your computer with that cable. After that, the driver should start installing. When the installation is complete, you will get a message.

If the lamps on your printer are blinking, you will not be able to install the printer on your computer. If the power lamp is the only light blinking, please make sure that the front panel (the one you open to change the inks) is fully closed. If the orange Alarm lamp is blinking, please open the following link for information about the error:
