When I try to scan, I keep getting this message: "No scanners were detected. If a scanner is installed, make sure that it is powered on and connected to the computer, and then try again. For information about adding or troubleshooting scanners, see Help and Support.'

My printer/scanner has worked just fine in the past and it currently prints. It is powered on and connected via Bluetooth. I have followed one suggestion of unplugging it for 30 seconds, then restarting Windows (version 10), then trying to scan again. It still does not work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you,

This is the support page for your printers and drivers for all versions of Windows including 10 both 32 bit and 64 bit.

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-tr4720

I checked the support page carefully and there is no scanner utility program for Windows past 8.1 which is linked here.

https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAxMTE2ODA1&cmp=ABR&lang=EN

Scanning Issues with Canon Pixma 4720 on Windows 10

If you are experiencing scanning errors with your Canon Pixma 4720 while printing works fine, it may be related to a recent Windows 10 update. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Possible Causes

Windows Update: A specific update may have introduced a bug affecting the scanning functionality.

Driver Issues: Outdated or incompatible printer drivers can lead to scanning problems.

Connection Method: The type of connection (USB vs. Wi-Fi) may impact functionality.

Troubleshooting Steps

Step

Action

1.

Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall the current drivers and download the latest version from the Canon website.

2.

Change Connection Method: If you are using a USB connection, try switching to a Wi-Fi connection, as this may resolve the issue.

3.

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your system is up to date, as Microsoft may release fixes for known issues.

4.

Use Canon Utility: Try scanning using the Canon IJ utility on your PC instead of the printer panel.
